Food security exists when all people, at all times, have physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. Introduction to three case studies of farmer-led research Abstract: The future of agriculture in the UK will be strongly influenced by its ability to grow in competitiveness. A continuous increase in the efficiency of agricultural production (productivity) will be needed to be competitive, and the main driver for this is innovation and its translation into new technology.
